When Christopher, our German exchange student, came to live with us, he brought us a beautiful picture book of his city. 

On the front cover was this scene.  The first time I saw it, I said to myself, "Someday you'll be a quilt."  Chris came back the next year for a visit along with his parents, and they were able to see it in progress.
