Originally made by three quilters
(Elsie Vredenburg, Arlene Flint, and Esther Wirth) of the North Star Quilters Guild for the local Garden Club’s annual show, which showcased quilts along with floral arrangements depicting the decades of the 20th century.
One Giant Step represents the space exploration of the 1960’s, and especially the first moon landing. All three of us worked on the piecing, Elsie did the quilting.
Machine pieced, machine quilted. Cotton fabrics, both commercial and hand dyed, tulle overlay on moon, Hobbs Heirloom Cotton batt. Backart consists of extra blocks.
Proceeds will be donated to various charities.
