Supply list for T Shirt Crazy

A T-shirt with a logo you would like to preserve (any size--do not cut shirt before class!)

1/2 yard muslin or 1/2 yard tear-away or wash-away stabilizer (Rins-away or Tear & Wash, not Solvy)

Cotton scraps which co-ordinate with T-shirt (you may also use other fabrics, if they are about the same weight) scraps should total 1/4 to 1/2 yard

1/2 yard lightweight iron-on interfacing (Touch of Gold or FusiKnit are my favorites) Preshrink according to package directions.

We will not be doing any other embellishing besides the stitching, but feel free to bring anything else you would like to put on the quilt (ribbons, buttons, etc)

Neutral thread for piecing

An assortment of decorative threads in 30 and 40 wt. for machine embroidery

1/2 yard of fabric for a border

1/8 yard contrasting fabric for a small inner border, if desired

We probably won't get to the quilting, but you may bring backing fabric and cotton batting if you wish

Sewing machine with the capability of doing some decorative stitches--clean and in good working order

Sewing machine feet

Sewing machine needles suitable for both piecing and for the decorative threads you choose.  (I use a Schmetz 80/12 Jeans needle for piecing, and a 90/14, or a machine embroidery needle for the decorative stitching.

Basic sewing supplies (scissors, seam ripper, ruler, rotary cutter and mat)

Press cloth (and old handkerchief or a piece of muslin works well)

Iron and ironing pad (can share with 2-3 people)

Small bag for trash
